I took the opportunity to have a night out with friends and see the Leftover Cuties play one of my favorite little venues in LA. The Hotel Cafe is one of the perfect small venues with an intimate feel and great sound. On this night though, it seemed that some people had some very important conversations to be had and thankfully, they were asked polity, at first, to shut their mouths. I was glad when the audience finally turned all of their attention to the bands on stage. The Cuties played some of their covers and some of their original music. Personally, I love Places to Go and Sunnyside, but their covers of new and classic performers were the reason for the night and of course beautifully done. Celebrating the release of their new covers EP was a great way to keep everyone excited for the upcoming album that I hope to hear this coming fall. The night was filled with friends playing on stage and reminiscing about the band's beginnings and I was glad to be a party of the celebration. As always their sound made us feel surrounded by the music. It seems that not one instrument is left out in the recording or the live performances and each one is played with beautiful music and great skill from the band. I am always impressed by their sets and I look forward to seeing them again and hope for a tour so more people can enjoy the experience.
As The Leftover Cuties gear up for a tour keep a look out and be sure to catch a show. With old timey sounds mixed with modern feel and lyrics, if you have not seen them live yet, you have been missing out.
