Pennsylvania's own Daylight will release their debut full-length, Jar, on April 30th via Run For Cover Records.
Their sound on this record is slightly different than their prior EPs - the songs are aggressive and showcase a fond affection for the music of the 1990s.
The band has been around for a few years, but this will be their first full LP - and man, does it sound great. As an early preview of Jar states:
The stadium-sound drums, plus pulsing bass and walls of buzzsaw guitars are all mixed with the size and clarity of major label grunge breakthrough records like Nirvana's Nevermind and Smashing Pumpkins' Siamese Dream.
Here's their new video for the song In On It (with which I'm currently obsessed):
Personally, I was sent an advance of the record and it's looking like it'll easily end up on my end-of-the-year Best Albums list. Their ability to channel the musical spirit of the early 1990s works exceptionally well.
Check back soon for an album review of Jar, but for now, just keep looping that In On It video above.
