Last week, Behind the Hype was invited to a live show by those Chi Town boys we’ve all come to know and love, Filligar.
Last year I hailed them as the next Kings of Leon, but I think they will be something even more. These gentlemen have their heads on straight, but also know when to let loose (see: Casey with his bum in the air). Again we were greeted to a spectacular live show; with their two new singles mixed in with all are old dance-worthy favorites.
Casey is definately the wildcard of the group, but makes sure never to disapoint on the keys. There's something to be said about his unparrelled stage performance; no other keyboardist have impressed me as much as him in the live show.
Also this time around, ladies flocked from all corners of the city to whisper about the dream Chicago brothers, and their piano playing friend, while I surfed the crowd trying to get a decent shot. A dance party, everyone shook a leg; even leg cast-clad front man Johnny Mathias.
Teddy and Johnny blasting through riffs together is straight up rock and roll, with the slightly high treble bass prevenlent on tracks like Not Gonna Settle and Gray Area.
I spent a good portion of the show trying to get the frantic Peter on the drums, keeping the beat a well rounded barrage of sound.
It’s only a matter of time before the masses around the world realize what they are missing. With an already impressive 8 albums under their belt, the band continues to put out quality studio productions while bringing a party with them on the tour. Next time they're in you're town, get down with em, like this lovely lady below:
Check out the band on their Facebook, and keep an eye out for their next album being released early next year.
Best part of all, I didn’t have a burst appendix after the show this time. But that’s a story for another day.
What more can I say? Get clicking and check out their work!
Until next time my friends,
