Guilty Pleasures or: IYDTYCEAD - Can’t Hardly Wait

Welcome back. As promised, I’ve got another installment of my guilty pleasures column. My last one, was actually BTH’s inaugural post and can be found here. Well, guilty pleasure #2 is Can’t Hardly Wait, a movie I’ve had a hard on for since ‘98. An example of said hard on can be found in my review for Role Models. Let me just say how off the wall fucken giddy I am about the recently released Blu-Ray version (also available on regular DVD for all you late bloomers, but not on VHS for all you pond scum) of this film. The Blu-Ray Version As long I’ve had my hard... [Read more of this review]
Golden Globe Noms
The Golden Globe nominations were announced this past Thursday. The Golden Globes are voted on by the clandestine group known only as the “Hollywood Foreign Press Association,” HFPA from here on out. Let me clarify, the Golden Globes website lists the names of their members, and the country they either write for, or hail from, it’s unclear which, but it doesn’t tell you what publication they write for, or what their credentials are. Fuck, maybe I oughtta apply. The Gilded Turds, er, I mean Golden Globes. I hold almost as much contempt for this group and their award, as... [Read more of this review]
2 Weeks Ago Today…

…The phrase “Black Friday” took on a different, much uglier meaning. I’m sure many of you heard, or read about it. Most of the headings being a variation of this: Wal-Mart Employee Trampled To Death On Black Friday High cost of low price - the understatement of the day All I can say is fuck that. His name was Jdimytai Damour and he was 34 years old. “Wal-Mart Employee”…even in death this man is being trampled. He was a son, a brother, a friend. Most importantly, he was a fellow human being. Jdimytai Damour Scratch that last sentence. To say Jdimytai was... [Read more of this review]
Her Name Was Megan Meier

Her name was Megan Meier and she was just 13 years old. Megan Meier I’m sure many of you have heard something about what I’m talking about here. The 2006 Myspace suicide and the ensuing court case. Though how many of you knew the little girl’s name? I didn’t. Not until a few days ago when I was reading about the outcome of the trial. And for those of you completely in the dark, here’s a short summary: Megan, and a girl named Sarah Drew, were longtime friends and neighbors, living in O’Fallon, Missouri, only a few houses down from each other. As is the case with... [Read more of this review]
Picture Me Role’ing

I finally caught Role Models starring Paul Rudd, Sean William Scott, and Elizabeth Banks the other day. I’m lagging, I know. Anyway, if you’re looking for a review, you ain’t gonna find one here, but RMTC did a superb job reviewing it and you can find that review here. So I’m not really even gonna bother… Fuck All Y'all Motherfuckers! Instead I’m gonna talk (translation = rant) about my lame ass movie going experience. Before I go any further, I’d like to make 2 points clear. First, regarding the title of this article…I can’t help it, but ever... [Read more of this review]
L.A. Kings Unveil New Alternate Jersey

Your Los Angeles Kings unveiled their new alternate jersey this past Saturday, November 22 during a shootout loss to Colorado in front of a sold out crowd at the Staples Center. For those of you that haven’t seen the Kings new alternate jersey, here it is: The L.A. Kings New Alternate Jersey This jersey clearly recalls the Kings heyday of the late 80’s to mid 90’s, otherwise known as the Gretzky era, with it’s black and silver color scheme. It was around this time, when I was about 10 or 11 that I started watching and generally becoming interested in hockey, and being that... [Read more of this review]
What If Kevin Smith Directed A Judd Apatow Movie?

Well guess what folks…he did! It’s called Zack and Miri Make a Porno. Zack, Miri, & Glenn and Gary Suck Ross's Meaty Cock Zack and Miri stars many of Apatow’s roving band of merry mirth makers, lead by none other than Apatow’s Crown Prince - Seth Rogen as Zack. And we’ve got big trunk showerhead freak Elizabeth Banks as Miri. And yes, Zack puts his bike in it! I won’t really go into the story too much, as RMTC has already covered that quite nicely in his review. I liked seeing Smith getting out of his comfort zone, using his regulars to a very small extent.... [Read more of this review]
Fuck A Ringtone*

*Okay, well, maybe not “Fuck A Ringtone” so much as Fuck Paying For A Ringtone! $600 Million, $550 Million, $510 Million. Yeah, Million. Six zero’s. These numbers represent overall ringtone sales in the United States for the years 2006, 2007, & the projected sales for 2008, respectively, as stated by BMI (Broadcast Music, Inc.) and reported by the New York Post. The sales are going down, and I know why, but that’ll come later. See, I’m no music thief… Shirt available for purchase @ Mooseshirts.com …However I’m also no sucker chump either! It would... All Pride, and No Glory

I caught the Edward Norton, Colin Farrell, & Jon Voight starring Pride and Glory Friday night. Is that really the last thing you want to uncover? Before I go any further, that title, Pride and Glory? Really?! …that title fucken sucks… It’s embarrassingly generic and fundamentally forgettable. A year from now, hell, 3 months from now, if you asked someone about Pride and Glory, the conversation might go something like this: You: Hey, so I caught the Pride and Glory on the cable the other night… Them: Pride and Glory, that’s the football one right? You: No, no,... [Read more of this review]
The Perfect Halloween Movie
This is not hyperbole folks…I’ve decided to be a generous bastard today and clue you all in on The Perfect Halloween Movie! Let me first say, I’m not talking about a slasher flick here. This isn’t one of your Friday the 13th’s, or Nightmare on Elm Street’s, it’s not a Saw movie, or the titular Halloween itself, and it’s not even the first Scream film, though I do give Scream an honorable mention. To be sure, there’s a time and a place for all the above movie’s I mentioned, however, ironically enough, Halloween is neither the time nor the... [Read more of this review]
